I am very fortunate to have a decent paying "regular job" that affords me the ability to simply have fun with photography. And with all the fun I've had with my dSLR, it isn't nearly as portable (or discreet) as one might hope (especially when you start to get nicer lenses). So, after Christmas, I found myself with a wealth of best buy gift cards and coupons, and decided I wanted to get a smaller camera to augment my dSLR for times when I wanted something smaller, lighter, and less obtrusive. Enter the Canon Powershot G12.
